Release notes

DTU 10-MW Reference Wind Turbine v 9.0

The model is based on the virtual DTU 10-MW reference wind turbine designed as part of the Light Rotor project which is a collaboration between the Wind Energy Department at the Technical University of Denmark and Vestas.

The controller implemented as a Dynamic Link Library (DLL) and developed by DTU. The controller is described in:

The Basic DTU Wind Energy controller, which is an open-access controller designed for pitch-regulated variable speed wind turbines, have been moved to a GitHub repository where current and future releases will be located.


Version 9 changes:

  • The changes from version 8 of the model are only on the controller part. There are new and corrected comments to the controller inputs. The controller dll is updated to version 2.3. The additional inputs of the advanced ‘init’ routine of the controller is added for this new version of the controller.

Version 9.1 changes:

  • Comment in line 398 of the htc-file has been corrected to reflect that a value of 0 corresponds to constant torque rather than a value of 2.

    This model is compatible with HAWC2 versions from 9.7.
